Match Day 4

Following some free time in the morning we took the train down to Yokohama for our final fixture of the tour against Yoshida High School, who had travelled up from NountNoun Fuji. We arrived at the Y.C.& A.C. Rugby club with the weather resembling typical English conditions rather than the hot and humid conditions we had experienced earlier in the tour. Following two tough games earlier in the week, some of the squad were unavailable to play. However, the starting XV began the game in fine form, passing the ball confidently in the wet conditions, scoring three early tries. After 20 minutes, the teams were changed and Yoshida started to play with more confidence. It took a while for the team to settle but Jake Van der Gaag scored with some excellent footwork to stretch the scoreline. The game ended 63-0, with both teams putting everything into the match. A more detailed report to follow. We then had a post match function in the club house, with both schools giving speeches, handing out presents and putting on short entertainment performances. We said goodbye to our hosts and headed back to Roppongi on the train for our evening entertainment. That evening we did the tour Kangaroo Court, in a Karaoke box, with some of the fines equalling singing a song to the group! It was a fantastic evening and a fitting way to end the tour.
